Wasco School Events Center is the hub of the small town of Wasco in Sherman County, Oregon. Our beautiful historic facility offers plenty space in the Auditorium for receptions, reunions, parties, memorial services, performances, retreats, conferences, and other large gatherings. We also have a small meeting room and large gymnasium available for rent.

About Us
Our History
The Wasco School was built in 1916 at the corner of Barnett and McPherson streets and operated as a school for nearly a century. The two-story building was constructed with fortified cement and covered with brick and stucco. The facility was built in Greek revival style and was designed by Tourtellotte & Hummel, the architectural firm based in Boise, Idaho, which is credited with constructing a number of landmarks across the Pacific Northwest, including the famed Hotel Astoria, the Baker City Tower, and the Idaho State Capitol.

Auditorium Rental
Our large Auditorium is the heart of our facility, featuring high ceilings with acoustic sound paneling, original hardwood oak floors, a small stage, and attached kitchen in the back, perfect for all types of gatherings.
Meeting Room
We also have space for your meetings, conferences, professional gatherings, and seminars. Utilizing our small Meeting Room and large Auditorium, the Wasco School can accommodate business groups of almost any size.
Community Library
We feature a small but thriving library open during the school’s regular business hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, or by special request as needed. Be sure to pop in the library and “check it out.”

We also have a large gymnasium available for rental. Use of gym may be included in your Fitness Center membership. We also have an active Pickleball club!

The Kitchen
The Wasco School has a fully stocked licensed kitchen. Use it to prepare food for your own party or event, or rent it to prepare food for an outside event, your choice! Contact us to check availability and get information on rates.
Become a Volunteer
The Wasco School is an integral part of our rural community. We are always looking for dedicated volunteers. We can use help with special events, setup of tables and chairs, landscaping, facility maintenance, and more!
